Making Things Prettier

This is going to be fun.

I attended a workshop on Social Media and realized I had a really fun idea to share.  For years I have been purchasing items at the dollar store or thrift shop and repainted them.  I never thought to take before pictures.  So here are some after pictures on projects that I've already done and given away.  Below is a girl and boy skater I bought at All a Dollar for - a dollar each.  They were cute, but dull and the painting was sloppy.  So here they are looking quite pretty and ready for the Utah Festival of trees, 2013.

In the background you will see some village figures.  These were also purchased at All a Dollar for 25 cents each.  They were painted so horribly they couldn't sell them.  But I thought, these are really cute shapes.  I ended up buying 8 of them and repainting them.

These little figures were donated by my mother along with some Santa's of the World Ornaments.  These are also repainted, but it was difficult because they were so small.  I don't know that I improved much on what was there.

And here is the final result of the Festival of Trees.  It did sell, but I don't know for how much.  Not all the items were make-overs, but a fair bit were.  My mother contributed the Santa's of the World ornaments that were on the tree and I bought a bunch of other Santa's.  I think it turned out well.

Well.  Here we go.  Next blog I'll show you some more of what I have already done, and then we'll get into some new items.  Hope you enjoy this as much as I think I'm going to enjoy it. I'll set up a share e-mail and we'll go from there.

Don't throw it over, make it over!
